This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how your personal information is collected, used and disclosed by King of the Web, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies ("King of the Web"). This Policy applies to the websites of King of the Web, including http://kingofweb.com, and King of the Web's other online and mobile applications, features and services (collectively, "Sites").
PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED
We collect information about you in various ways when you use our Sites. For example, we collect information you provide to us when you register for an account, create or update your profile, make a purchase from our Sites or contact us via email or through third party social media channels. The personal information we collect may include your name, email address, user name, display name, postal address, photos, videos, other contact or demographic information and any other information you choose to provide. We may also obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect on our Sites. For example, if you log in to our Sites via Facebook Connect, we collect information about you as permitted by the Facebook Connect terms, including your name, profile picture, email address, gender, networks, user ID, list of friends and any other information you make publicly available.
In addition, when you visit our Sites, some information is automatically collected. For example, we may collect your computer's operating system, Internet Protocol ("IP") address, access times, browser type and language and the website you visited before navigating to our Sites. If you access our Sites from a mobile device, we may also collect information about the type of mobile device you use, your device's unique ID and the type of mobile Internet browsers you use. We also collect information about your usage of and activity on our Sites.
Cookies. We may, or we may allow third parties to, automatically collect information using "cookies." Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive by a website. Among other things, cookies help us improve our Sites and your experience. Cookies also help evaluate and compile aggregated statistics about activity on our Sites and deliver advertising on other websites targeted to your interests and preferences. Web Beacons. We may, or we may allow third parties to, collect information using Web beacons (also known as "pixel tags" and "tracking pixels"). Web beacons are electronic images that may be used on our Sites or in our emails. Web beacons are used to deliver cookies, count visits, help manage online advertising, understand usage and campaign effectiveness and to tell if an email has been opened and acted upon.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We use personal information collected through our Sites for purposes described in this Policy or disclosed to you on our Sites. For example, we may use your information to:
- operate and improve our Sites and services;
- process and deliver contest entries and rewards;
- respond to your comments and questions and provide customer service;
- monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities on our Sites;
- provide and deliver products and services and to send you related information, including confirmations, invoices, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;
- communicate with you about new contests, promotions, rewards, upcoming events and other news about King of the Web and our selected partners; and
- link or combine with other personal information we get from third parties to help understand your needs and provide you with better service.
SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Our Sites are generally designed to encourage open communication and facilitate the sharing of information and opinions. However, we will not share your personal information with third parties other than as follows:
- when you give us your consent, including if we notify you on our Sites that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information;
- when you participate as a candidate on our Sites, your image, display name, gender, location and any additional information you provide in connection with your campaign (with the exception of your email address) will be publicly viewable across the Internet, including in online search results;
- when you vote or submit a comment about a candidate, your display name will be publicly viewable alongside your vote or comment;
- if you donate your winnings, we will share your personal information with the 501(c)(3) charity you designate as the recipient, unless you indicate your desire to make an anonymous donation;
- with third party vendors, consultants and other service providers who are working on our behalf and need access to your information to carry out their work for us;
- if you win a prize, we may share your name and email address with third party sponsors for purposes of prize fulfillment;
- to (i) comply with laws or to respond to lawful requests and legal process, (ii) to protect the rights and property of King of the Web, our agents, users and others, including to enforce our agreements, policies and terms of use or (iii) in an emergency to protect the safety of King of the Web, our users or any other person; and
- in connection with any, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
We may also share aggregated or anonymized information that does not directly identify you.
SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
King of the Web takes reasonable measures to help protect your personal information in an effort to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
TRANSFERS OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ABROAD
King of the Web may store and process personal information in the United States and other countries.
King of the Web complies with the US-EU Safe Harbor Framework and US-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. King of the Web has certified that it adheres to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity, Access and Enforcement. YOUR INFORMATION CHOICES AND CHANGES
You have the ability to review and edit your personal information at any time by logging into your account and clicking on the "Player Profile" link on your campaign page. If you wish to suspend your account, please contact us at support@kingofweb.com. Please note that once you suspend your account, your information will no longer be publicly viewable; however, we may retain archived copies of your information for some period of time. You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from King of the Web by following the instructions in those emails, updating your profile preferences or by emailing us at support@kingofweb.com. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional emails, such as emails about your accounts or our ongoing business relations.
Most Web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove and/or reject cookies. Removing and rejecting browser cookies does not necessarily affect third party flash cookies used in connection with our Sites. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect certain features or services of our Sites.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
King of the Web may change this Policy from time to time. If we make any changes to the Policy, we will change the "Last Updated" date above.
